Bedford County Public Schools held a summer graduation ceremony recognizing Jefferson Forest High School and Staunton River High School summer graduates. William DuPair, superintendent of Bedford County Public Schools, delivered opening remarks and encouragement to graduates and families.
DuPair told graduates to carry forward the skills they learned in school and to "continue to make good choices," noting the value of persistence, curiosity and relationships as students move into college, careers or military service. He asked graduates to return and remain engaged with their schools: "Come back and participate because you will do and you will move on to great things."
The ceremony included a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and the presentation of diplomas. Announcers called student names as graduates walked across the stage to receive their diplomas from school principals. The school administrators named Jefferson Forest High School and Staunton River High School as the two schools represented at the ceremony; the transcript notes there were no Liberty High School summer graduates. The transcript does not specify the number of graduates for each school.
Families and staff were invited to a reception in the lobby after the ceremony, and graduates completed the traditional tassel move to mark conferral of diplomas. The event closed with DuPair offering congratulations to the Class of 2025 summer school graduates.
The transcript records the ceremony remarks and the list of named graduates called onstage; it does not contain votes, policy actions or funding decisions.
