At the Oct. 13 public work session, district personnel staff presented a personnel report listing separations, retirements, leaves, status changes and recommended hires for ratification at the Oct. 20 voting meeting.
Separations and leaves: The personnel report listed several separations, including resignations and a retirement (Doris Heckard, instructional assistant, retirement effective Dec. 19, 2025). The presentation also included upcoming childbearing and child-rearing leaves (for example, a nurse assistant and a speech and language specialist with approximate start dates in January and March 2026). The presenter said staff marked several outgoing employees with an asterisk to note they will continue as district substitutes.
Status changes and hires pending clearance: The report included multiple status changes (for example, building assistant to instructional assistant, entrance monitor to building assistant) and recommended hires pending completion of preemployment checks. New recommended hires included short-term substitute teachers, assistant coaches, building custodians, personal care assistants and several food-service helpers across district buildings; specific hourly wages and effective dates were listed in the personnel packet presented to the board.
Classified job fair: Personnel staff said the classified job fair held on Oct. 8 was well attended, with roughly 30 to 40 people participating across six employer tables, and that the event produced candidates for several openings.
Next steps: The personnel actions were presented for placement on the Oct. 20 voting agenda for formal ratification. No vote was taken at the work session.
