The Wixom City Council voted to renew a three-year professional services agreement with Granicus of St. Paul, Minnesota, for website maintenance, hosting and licensing services. The first-year cost is $10,708.25, with funding allocated from the website support account (101-228-728.284).
City Manager Benson said the city has worked with Granicus since about fiscal 2019–20 and completed a website redesign with the vendor last year. Benson described the renewal as standard but noted the vendor's proposed rate increase was higher than previously experienced and that the dollar change equated to "about $800 a year." Benson said the city uses Granicus tools for email notifications and website security and that city staff performs routine updates: "We do that," meaning the city posts dynamic content such as road closures and event changes, while Granicus provides as-needed support for larger issues.
Councilors had no substantive objections and approved the recommendation by voice vote. The motion authorized the mayor to sign the agreement.
The contract renewal was presented as new business item 2 during a regularly scheduled meeting and passed without amendment.
