The Sun Valley Utilities of Milton board unanimously approved minutes from its Aug. 21 meeting and the nonprofit’s July 2025 financial report and heard staff updates about contractor bidding and a sewer connection.
The approvals came on separate motions. Councilman Powerson moved to approve the Aug. 21 minutes; Chair Eric seconded and the motion passed unanimously with all six members present. Later, members voted to approve the Sun Valley Utilities nonprofit profit-and-loss report for July 2025 after a motion that was seconded by Councilman Gee; that motion also passed unanimously with all six members present.
The approvals were routine and required no further action by the board. The financial report was entered as item 2025-3575 on the meeting agenda.
During member communications, an update on an upcoming construction contract drew attention: staff reported five bidders attended the pre-bid or bid opening, and about 11 people were present in total, including subcontractors and materials suppliers. The board said it was “surprised” and pleased by the turnout and said it expects to move forward with bid evaluation and project start-up after bids are received.
Separately, staff confirmed that a Ski Watch resident who had applied for a sewer tap has paid the required fee and that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has approved the sewer tap. Staff acknowledged the assistance that helped secure approval.
There were no ordinances or resolutions on the meeting agenda. No formal votes or further actions were taken on the construction bidding item or the sewer-tap matter during the meeting; both were reported as updates to the board.
The board moved on after the communications and closed the item list for the session.
