The Milton Community Redevelopment Agency approved minutes from its July meeting and accepted financial reports through June 2025, and staff reported that the city’s Community Development Block Grant (Small Cities) application was not awarded for the year.
At the start of the CRA regular meeting, members voted to approve the minutes for item "20 20 Five‑three 460." Councilwoman Ferro moved to approve the minutes and Councilman Powers seconded; the board approved the minutes 8‑0. Later, the board voted to accept the financial reports (item number given in the meeting materials as "20 20 five‑three thousand 520") covering activity through June 2025. Councilman Powell moved to approve the financial reports and Councilman Hawthorne seconded; the motion passed unanimously by the members present.
City Manager Mr. Spears informed the CRA that the city’s application for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities program was not successful this funding cycle. “Unfortunately, we’re not awarded this year. We will continue to look for alternative funding sources for those projects as we move forward,” Mr. Spears said. Meeting discussion noted that funding in this cycle was prioritized for municipalities with demonstrated regulatory needs, a factor staff said affected the competition for awards.
There were no members of the public who signed up to speak to the CRA during the meeting, and members had no additional questions about the posted financial materials. The board completed its business and adjourned the CRA meeting so the body could prepare to convene the Sundon Utilities of Milton meeting, scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
The minutes and financial reports indicated they are attached to the agenda packet available in the city’s online agenda center; the reports cover activity through June 2025. The CRA did not take any additional formal actions or adopt new policies at this session.
