City Development Corporation approves $100,000 infrastructure grant for Aqua Fit Chlorination expansion

The El Campo City Development Corporation on Oct. 13 approved a $100,000 infrastructure grant to Aqua Fit Chlorination to reimburse part of the cost to extend water, sanitary and other utilities to a new production building behind the company’s existing site.
Todd White, owner of Aqua Fit Chlorination, told the CDC and council representatives that the overall expansion is a roughly $2.5 million project to add a pellet-production line for products distributed on retail platforms and national chains. Staff said the infrastructure expense to extend lines to the rear lot is estimated at about $225,000; the CDC voted to reimburse $100,000 of those infrastructure costs.
CDC members said the company expects substantial downstream benefits, including additional manufacturing work that the applicant said will be produced in El Campo for retailers. Staff explained the grant is a reimbursement of documented infrastructure spending; the CDC approved the $100,000 award unanimously.
Council received the CDC recommendation and recorded the approval of the CDC’s infrastructure grant during the meeting. The council’s action moves the reimbursement forward; the CDS/CDC and applicant will follow the CDC’s administrative process for documenting eligible infrastructure expenses and issuing reimbursement.
