The Forest Lake City Council adopted a resolution recognizing volunteers who helped at the recent Lakeside Park corn feed and approved a separate resolution accepting donations to the city’s Veterans Memorial fund.

Mayor Roberts read the list of Parks and Recreation Commission members and beautification volunteers being recognized for their work at the corn feed and asked the council for a motion. The council approved the recognition resolution by voice vote.

The council then considered a resolution accepting donations to the Veterans Memorial project. Mayor Roberts read a list of donors recognized at the meeting, including Winnick Supply, Morgan Stanley, Culver’s of Forest Lake, Connexus Energy, the Lions Club, Grand Casino Hinckley, the American Legion Auxiliary and several other local contributors. The mayor also acknowledged state legislators who attended a recent groundbreaking, including Senator Housley and others who helped secure state funding.

A motion to approve Resolution No. 09082502 — thanking groups, businesses and the general public for donations toward the Veterans Memorial Project — carried by voice vote.
