Board members heard from representatives of the architectural team responsible for the district's facilities master planning process, who reported building tours, staff surveys and a forthcoming community meeting on Nov. 12.
The presenters said engineers and architects completed facility tours and assessments over the summer and have met with principals, building leadership teams and staff to identify priorities. The team then surveyed staff and distilled findings into a draft list that will be presented to the public on Nov. 12 as five key topics for feedback.
"We are right now in the investigation phase," one presenter said. "We have not started developing solutions yet. We have not started proposing projects or dollar amounts or anything like that." The team said it hopes to complete investigation work in December and present a mid‑point master plan to the board later in the winter.
The presenters said the Nov. 12 meeting will not be a town hall for selecting projects; rather, it will present the challenges the team has identified and solicit audience input on priorities through live surveys during the presentation. They asked the board and staff to help advertise the meeting and said a draft presentation and question list will be provided to the facility committee and posted on the district's communications channels.
Board members and staff discussed technical problems with remote audio during the presentation and audience notification strategies; staff agreed to post the meeting notice on the district's website and social media once draft language is finalized. No formal board action on the master plan was taken at this meeting.
