County health agency outlines Truckee service expansion and homelessness planning; promotora outreach highlighted

Nevada County Health and Human Services (HHSA) on Aug. 12 presented an update on services in Tahoe Truckee, recent staffing expansions, and ongoing regional efforts to address homelessness and behavioral health access.
HHSA Director Ryan Groover told the Board that the agency has increased local presence in Truckee in recent years, adding roughly 50% more full-time-equivalent staff countywide in the relevant service lines since 2018'019. Truckee now has onsite staff handling public-health clinic services, child-welfare work and behavioral-health contacts; HHSA said 21 of the county's bilingual staff are budgeted to serve eastern-county clients.
