Board approves consent agenda, personnel and finance items; buys boilers and security gates

The Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education on Monday, Jan. 27, unanimously approved a slate of consent items across curriculum, personnel, finance and policy, and authorized purchases for school infrastructure including boilers and new security gates at James Caldwell High School.

During the public conference meeting at Grover Cleveland Middle School, board members approved curriculum and technology items (a'k); certificated and noncertificated personnel items; finance and facilities items (a'y); and a policy item. Roll call votes recorded each motion as carried 5-0.

Board members explicitly called attention to two capital items approved under finance and facilities: the purchase of new boilers and the installation of security gates at James Caldwell High School. A board official said those purchases would be paid from the district's operating budget. “The board is very proud to be fiscally responsible and be able to do those out of the operating budget,” an official said.
