Commission accepts Olsen Engineering qualifications as airport consultant for next five years

The Fort Scott City Commission accepted Olsen Engineering’s submission Sept. 24 as the consultant of record for airfield development projects at Fort Scott Municipal Airport, after the city received only a single response to a request for qualifications (RFQ).
City staff said the RFQ, prepared with FAA input, is required every five years. The commission’s acceptance is limited to approving Olsen Engineering as the qualified consultant; the action does not itself award a contract.
A commissioner noted that Olsen has provided this work for the city previously. The motion to accept Olsen Engineering passed on a unanimous roll call.
The city will proceed under applicable procurement rules for future specific contracts and task orders associated with airport projects and the accepted qualifications roster.
