Downtown Estacada commissioners reviewed communications and outreach steps for August at their Aug. 4 meeting, including newsletter deadlines, First Friday promotions and arts-commission items.

Members reminded commissioners and partners to send newsletter content to Evelyn by the 15th of the month so it can appear in the mid-month distribution. One commissioner said she “still post[s] something before the first Friday of every month” when graphics and blurbs are provided.

The commission agreed to post a generic First Friday promotional blurb on social media and invited businesses with special offers or events to submit details for inclusion in September’s newsletter. Commissioners noted local business participation, including Yo Treats and a spiral gallery that hosts a 5 p.m.–8 p.m. First Friday showing.

Other outreach items: the arts commission’s summer passport and a local backpack drive by Ant Farm were mentioned as candidates for social posts; members asked event leads to send dates and contact details so posts can be prepared in advance.

Ending: Staff will compile First Friday information, arts-commission items and civic drives for coordinated social posts and the mid-month newsletter; organizers will forward event details to Evelyn before the 15th for September placement.
