Estacada library board reports expanded outreach: bookmobile visits, year-round clubs, seed library and 'library of things'

Desiree, representing the Estacada Public Library Board, updated council on outreach and expanded services. She said the bookmobile has visited Job Corps, area daycares and community events, allowing patrons to place holds and access e-books remotely. "They really, have a great response and, enjoy having the books available," Desiree said of the Job Corps visits.
Desiree described new programming developed in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, including a Canva course for small businesses and expanded club programming (the Lehi club now runs year-round rather than only during the school year). She said new book-club formats are planned, including a chapter to meet at a local brewery, and children’s offerings such as Seahorse Storytime will continue.
On services, the library board described a seed library that will allow community members to deposit and check out seeds and an expansion of the library-of-things program so residents may borrow party supplies, games and other items. Board members have led outreach at city events and will continue to coordinate programming and bookmobile schedules with city staff.
Councilors thanked the board for the community outreach and encouraged continued coordination with other commissions and city events.
