City to close Eagle Creek Road between River Mill and Deuce for water and storm work; local traffic only for up to four weeks

City staff told the council that a scheduled utility project will require lane closures on Eagle Creek Road where it becomes Wade Street as it enters town. The work, a water-line and storm-line installation, will affect Eagle Creek Road between River Mill Road and Deuce Road and is expected to require local-traffic-only closures for two to four weeks once work begins, staff said.
Melanie, the staff member who briefed the council, said crews will attempt to keep at least one route open where possible and will use flaggers between Campanella and River Mill Road to reduce full closures of the lower segment. She said the work is likely to start in one to two weeks but cautioned an exact duration depends on conditions encountered underground.
Melanie said staff will notify impacted partners before work begins, including the school district, TriMet, police and fire, and that the city plans longer-term intersection improvements at River Mill Road and Eagle Creek Road in the coming years that will require additional temporary impacts.
The council did not take formal action on the closure; staff requested the council's acknowledgement and said they will return with implementation updates and signage plans.
