The Venice City Council on Oct. 14 adopted on final reading an ordinance (2025-33) placing the structure at 500 Nassau Street South on the city's local register of historic resources.

The ordinance was read by title; staff advised there were no new written communications and no members of the public signed up to speak. A councilmember moved to adopt the ordinance and another councilmember seconded; the motion passed unanimously on an electronic vote.

Council discussion was not extended; staff had previously processed the nomination and recommended placement on the local register under Chapter 87, Section 7.7 of the city code. The ordinance provides for conflicts, severability, and an effective date as standard for local historic register actions.
