Owner's representative reports construction milestones across Auburn'Washburn schools; several projects target fall or winter completion

Henley said one project's exterior envelope is expected to be dried-in by October, allowing interior drywall and paint work to proceed, and that substantial completion for that building is tracking toward February. Work on the Washburn Rural Middle School outdoor education remodel had interior wall work complete and finish work underway, with a target of substantial completion in November; the board's October 20 meeting is planned to be held at that site.
At Jay Shieler (pre-K annex), crews had installed drywall and completed end-wall rough-ins, with overhead rough-ins, painting and flooring to follow; substantial completion there is also targeted for November. Indian Hills completed its work before a holiday weekend and scheduled an open house for Sept. 26; Henley said the contractor was addressing punch-list items to finish the move-in. Farley saw a smaller scope of work focused mainly on the main entry improvements and new collaboration spaces.
Wanamaker was publicly bid and GMP approval is targeted for the board's October meeting, with the contractor planning to work during Thanksgiving and other long breaks to minimize classroom disruption. Henley said drawings for Auburn are expected by the beginning of next month and Pauline South drawings will follow in November; Henley described a phased plan in which a special education suite (described in the presentation as the yellow area) would likely extend into spring semester 2026 to avoid displacing classrooms midsemester.
Henley concluded by noting the facility committee will meet Oct. 6 to review a maker GMP summary and budgets and to discuss the final projects. Board members and audience members thanked Henley for interior photos and progress updates.
