Renee of Von Broekern & Associates informed the board she will retire at the end of the year, the county reported. The consultant has supported several county departments, including HR and ambulance personnel matters.

Supervisors said the county has already paid for the first half of the fiscal year and that Renee's contract and work with departments will cover services through year end. Board members asked staff to ask Renee for recommendations and to network with other counties to identify possible consultants or negotiators for upcoming union negotiation work.

The board discussed options including soliciting a recommended replacement from Renee, getting quotes for similar services, or splitting HR and union negotiator responsibilities between separate contractors. Supervisors said they expect a decision by the end of the year.
