The Haysville City Council voted Aug. 11 to permit the Living History Rendezvous event at Riggs Park from Oct. 30 through Nov. 2.
Brad McCaffrey, representing the event organizers, told the council the rendezvous is a longstanding community event and requested use of the park and associated facilities. “We take good care of the park,” he said, and asked for council support for the event and permission for trick-or-treating activities associated with it.
Councilman (mover) made a motion to allow the Living History Rendezvous to use Riggs Park Oct. 30–Nov. 2; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote.
The council did not attach additional conditions on the record beyond the approved date range. McCaffrey noted plans include family-oriented activities and a car show the preceding week; he asked organizers and volunteers to help with cleanup.
