The grant agreement establishes procurement and contracting requirements, insurance obligations, and a completion deadline of June 30, 2026, for the repairs; staff said town contingency funds will provide the requested funding.
Feasibility study: staff described a parallel feasibility study and facility assessment to begin in October 2025 and conclude around April'May 2026 to outline longer-range maintenance and facility planning.
Public comment and council discussion: There was no public comment. Councilmembers framed the repairs as necessary safety and accessibility investments for an aging facility (dated to the 1990s), and several noted the center's broad community role. Council approved the ordinance unanimously.
Next steps: staff will finalize the grant agreement, oversee procurement and provide a status update; the feasibility study will provide a longer-term plan for facility improvements and maintenance.
