Board Chair reported that the Utah High School Activities Association completed a statutory report due Sept. 30 and will appear on the board’s November agenda to present its budget, the chair said.
“That’s a statutory requirement that the UHSAA report by a specific date. I believe, Carol, it’s September 30, and they did that, and so we are now preparing for them to come forward,” Board Chair said. The chair said budget materials and other supporting documents will be uploaded into the meeting backup folder for board members to review before the presentation.
The report’s appearance on the November agenda follows the chair’s confirmation that UHSAA met the statutory deadline; the board did not take any formal action on the report at this meeting. The chair asked members to watch for the uploaded materials and said staff would provide the backup documents.
During the chair’s report, the chair also addressed internal communication practices, asking that board members include a staff member named Molly on emails and requests to help the staff coordinate work. The chair said Vice Chair Bollinger had committed to sending updates weekly and emphasized the need for cohesion between board members and staff as the legislative session approaches.
There were no substantive policy decisions or votes related to UHSAA’s budget at the meeting; the only formal motion recorded was to adjourn.
The board adjourned after a motion to adjourn was moved by the Board Chair and seconded (second not identified). Members answered “Aye” on a voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded.
