The Piper School District Board of Education received an informational briefing on Oct. 13 about moving the board agenda platform from BoardDocs to Diligent and a proposed policy for retaining livestream recordings.

Staff said BoardDocs is moving to a new platform and that the district plans to migrate to Diligent. The formal approval of the migration will be requested at the next meeting; staff described the two products as from the same parent company with Diligent being an upgrade.

Separately, staff described guidance received from the Kansas Association of School Boards about retention of live-streamed meetings and proposed keeping livestreams available for one week after each meeting to give viewers time to watch, after which recordings would be removed from public channels to reduce clerical workload. The proposal is a first read; staff asked board members for feedback and said they will return with a formal recommendation next month.

No formal vote was taken during the Oct. 13 meeting on either the platform migration or the livestream-retention proposal.
