Barton said he and his wife had requested information including video and a DCPP (Division of Child Protection and Permanency) report and had not received it. He also said the child referenced in the incident had engaged in hostile behavior toward the aide. Barton requested follow‑up and said he would prefer not to pursue legal action but had spoken with an attorney.
Later public commenters echoed concerns about privacy and special education pupil records. Board officials acknowledged the comments but did not take public action; the board noted matters involving personnel, litigation and DCPP are subject to confidentiality and may be handled outside public session.
No disciplinary outcome or personnel action was taken or announced in open session during the meeting.
