District reports 36 incidents in first half of 2024-25 under Student Safety Data System

Cinnaminson Township School District officials presented the Student Safety Data System (SSDS) report for the first reporting period of the 2024–25 school year at the April 15 board meeting, recording 36 total incidents across the district.

The report — required by the state and submitted publicly to the board — tallies incidents of violence, vandalism, substance use, weapons offenses, harassment/intimidation/bullying (HIB), uses of restraint or seclusion and removal incidents (commonly reported as suspensions). Presenters said the district compares current-period totals to the prior school year and noted the district reported 47 incidents in report period 1 of 2023–24, making the current total approximately a 20% decrease.

Officials emphasized that the green/red color coding in the SSDS display shows areas of increase and decrease compared with prior reporting periods, but cautioned that any incident is taken seriously and that totals alone do not reflect incident severity. The presenter said the district does not under-report incidents and uses SSDS data to shape prevention and response work.
