Local special-education parent group outlines resources, outreach at Cinnaminson board meeting

Members of the Cinnaminson Special Education Parent Advisory Group (CPAG) presented to the board March 8, describing the group’s outreach, partnerships and resources for families of students with disabilities.

CPAG representatives Miss Edie Peplowski, Ashley Neold and Terry (last name not stated) said the group is parent-led and works with district leaders to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The presenters said their new website lists upcoming events and resources and that CPAG has established relationships with statewide advocacy organizations, including the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN) and the New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education.

Why it matters: CPAG is the district’s recognized parent advisory group for special education issues; its meetings and resources can affect parents’ access to information about Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), community supports, and training opportunities.
