The ad hoc referendum committee of the Cinnaminson Township School District board met in several sessions in late April and May and reviewed a facilities needs assessment from Garrison Architect, according to committee minutes presented to the full board May 13.
Why it matters: The committeediscussions will shape any future bond referendum and capital work that could affect school capacity, prekindergarten expansion and athletic facilities across the district.
What the committee reviewed: At the April 30 meeting bond counsel Tony Solomine explained the bond process and the districtborrowing capacity; Bob Garrison of Garrison Architect reviewed potential projects and timelines based on building walkthroughs. At subsequent meetings (May 7 and May 12) the committee dug into needs at Memorial School, New Albany and Rush; discussed possible in-house work led by head of facilities Mark Bridal to lower referendum costs; and explored a large-scale Memorial School expansion to serve the district preschool program. Athletic field upgrades at the high school also were discussed.
Next steps: The committee established three subcommittees (communications, finance and construction) intended to include community stakeholders. The committee tasked Superintendent Capello to consolidate committee notes and forward them to the architect for a revised project scope and cost estimates. The full referendum committee will next meet June 2, 2025.
Provenance: Committee reports were presented in the boardmeeting transcript under the curriculum committee and referendum committee summary items.
