CINNAMINSON, N.J. — The Cinnaminson Township School District board received an update on referendum planning and accepted a gift to the high school marching band during its Sept. 23 meeting.
Referendum subcommittee update Mister Bramhall reported that the referendum construction and finance subcommittee met via Google Meet on Sept. 10 to review potential referendum projects and community tax impacts. Architects from Garrison Architects and district administrators explained why projects were identified as district needs, and committee members discussed whether the project list should be consolidated. Bramhall said the decision on consolidation will return to the full referendum committee for additional review. The next subcommittee meeting had not been scheduled at the time of the board meeting.
Donation to marching band The board accepted, with appreciation, a donated trailer from Riggs Distler and Company to support the high school marching band’s equipment transport. The superintendent said the district will recognize the company publicly at a future meeting and planned a formal acknowledgment.
Business and finance approvals The business and finance section included multiple routine approvals: - Grants and acceptance: district-approved grants for FY25 and FY26 were presented, including acceptance of an additional extraordinary-aid allocation and a $1,550 grant from the Peter R. Marsh Foundation. - Contracts: the board approved a sending/receiving tuition agreement with Burlington County Institute of Technology, a revised receiving tuition contract with Riverside Board of Education, and cooperative transportation service agreements with Camden County ESC and Monmouth-Ocean ESC, plus a joint transportation agreement retroactive to Sept. 17 through June 18. - Operations: approval to dispose of one classroom FM speaker and a surplus sale were listed on the agenda.
Votes The items in business and finance and the committee report were put to voice votes and approved. The meeting transcript records “Aye” votes from board members during roll call and confirms each motion was approved.
Ending Board members said the subcommittee work will continue and that community engagement will follow as project specifics and a referendum question are developed.
