The Cinnaminson Township School District board publicly accepted a donated marching-band trailer at its Oct. 14 meeting and thanked local donors for supporting the high school music program.
A board member described a recent generous donation from the Rivera family and the firm Riggs Distler that produced a travel trailer for the marching band, including exterior graphics created with help from AlphaGraphics. "When our marching band travels, they carry equipment, instruments and guard materials; the band is very well supported by the district, but they had some needs to be competition ready," the board member said while introducing the donors.
On behalf of the board and the district, certificates of appreciation were presented to the Rivera family and representatives of Riggs Distler. The board noted that local businesses regularly support school programs and singled out Riggs Distler as a large local mechanical and electrical contractor that contributed to band needs.
No formal district expenditure was associated with accepting the gift; the board publicly recognized the donation and asked the superintendent and staff to coordinate use of the trailer for upcoming travel and competitions.
