Adams County releases proposed fiscal year 2026 budget for public inspection

Adams County officials presented the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget at the Oct. 14 meeting and confirmed the document is available online for public inspection. Interim Budget and Finance Director Mark Osborne said the county will hold study sessions with the board and continue departmental reviews ahead of a planned adoption before Thanksgiving.
Osborne said notice of the proposed budget was published in the Northglenn Thornton Sentinel on Oct. 9 and described the process used to assemble the proposal, including department presentations and meetings with elected officials. He told the board the budget will be refined over the coming weeks and that multiple open study sessions are planned.
Commissioners thanked staff for extended work on the budget. Commissioners and staff noted pressures on local revenue streams such as sales tax and an observed leveling in property tax that could affect medium-term county finances. No vote was required; the presentation was informational and the board directed staff to proceed with public review and study sessions.
