Council adopts resolution accepting disc-golf equipment donation for Dickerson Community Center

At its Oct. 14 meeting, the Monroe City Council adopted a resolution accepting a donation from the Monroe Disc Golf League for play equipment to support a disc golf course at Dickerson Community Center.
Pete Yvanet and Dr. Milner described efforts by the Monroe Disc Golf League and city grounds crews to establish and expand the course. Dr. Milner said the league purchased four starter sets of discs that will be available for rental at the Dickerson Community Center so residents can try the sport. Yvanet and Parks & Recreation staff acknowledged volunteer work and the city grounds crew’s role in constructing the course.
A council member moved to adopt a resolution accepting the donation; a second was recorded, council voted in favor by voice, and the resolution passed. The presenters and council took a photo. City staff said the donation will be available for public use at Dickerson and that the donation acceptance was placed on the consent or regular packet via a resolution.
Council did not set further conditions on the donation at the meeting; staff indicated they would bring the donation into inventory per city procedures and make the starter sets available for public check-out at Dickerson.
