The Englewood City Budget Advisory Committee agreed to postpone final action on the proposed reserve policy and to reconvene with additional edits in November.
Committee Chair Peter Eckle opened discussion about the reserve policy draft and members agreed to “punt to November” for further work to complete outstanding sections and fill remaining gaps. Laura Cooper said she had added several sections, including “sales and use tax reliance metric” and a section on timing of adjustments and reserve replenishment, and the committee asked members to provide feedback by email and to prepare for a longer November meeting.
Staffing and liaison note
Finance staff told the committee that Tyson — who usually serves as a liaison — is out this evening; one staff speaker announced Tyson had accepted a job with the state, while Jenny Nolan clarified that he was out ill that day and noted that Jenny would step into the liaison role starting next month until the position is filled. The committee acknowledged the transition and planned for Jenny to be more present at future meetings.
Ending
Chair Eckle reminded members that the next meeting is Nov. 6 and asked members to watch for emailed materials, including the reserve policy redlines and CIP tool documents.
