Blue Ridge Unified board approves annual financial report, capital plan and senior trip; OKs easement for teacher housing

The Blue Ridge Unified School District No. 32 Board of Education approved the district's annual financial report, the school facilities capital plan, and an out-of-state senior trip, and granted a right-of-way easement to supply electricity to the teacher housing project during its regular meeting. Board members also heard staff updates on ongoing facilities repairs and School Facilities Oversight Board projects.

The board voted to accept the district's annual financial report (AFR), which school staff said is required by Arizona state statute and is submitted to the Arizona Department of Education. Finance staff told the board the AFR breaks district revenues and expenditures into maintenance and operations, capital, grants and special revenues, and shows that salaries and benefits make up the largest share of maintenance-and-operations spending. Staff said remaining federal ESSER funds have been spent and that maintenance of effort tests were completed.
