Giselle Policiano, the Hartford registrar of voters, reminded the City Council during public comment that early voting begins Monday and continues through Nov. 2, and that the city’s Board of Education election is scheduled for Nov. 4.
Policiano said early voting will be held at 550 Main Street, Room 002, the Registrar of Voters office, and that the office offers same-day registration during early voting and on Election Day. "We do have same day registration during early voting," she said.
She described the schedule given at the meeting: the last Tuesday and Thursday of the month will have extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and other early-voting days will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Election Day, same-day registration will be available in the atrium from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Policiano also said absentee ballots remain available through the town clerk's office and encouraged voters to try the new voting machines, which she described as "d s 3 hundreds" as stated at the meeting.
Council members asked follow-up questions about locations and registration; Policiano confirmed the early-voting site and the availability of same-day registration and absentee options. No action was taken by the council during the meeting.
