The council also set public hearings on the proposed sale of city-owned property at 405 Seventh Avenue South and adopted an ordinance amending accessory dwelling unit regulations and an ordinance adjusting the speed limit on a portion of Second Avenue South (the council waived the two prior-reading requirement under Iowa Code section 380.3 prior to final passage).
Votes were recorded by roll call for each item. Most motions passed by unanimous roll call; the resolution approving payment to USA Concerts Peach Tree recorded one NO vote from Council member Shammers, with the remaining members voting yes.
