Public Works previewing surplus equipment auction; monthly bills include several larger invoices

Richland County Public Works staff told the committee they are preparing an auction of surplus equipment, anticipated to occur in October, and reviewed the department’s recent bills.

Items listed for the auction include a D8 dozer, one tri-axle dump truck, two tandem-axle dump trucks, a stump grinder, a sand blaster, an older brine maker, a scale house, and assorted small equipment and parts. Staff said the auction will also include poly tubes from inventory and the old brine maker scale house.

On finance, staff said they had received closing entries for 2024 and were reconciling accounts; a more accurate depiction of the department’s finances will be available at the next meeting. Recent large-ticket bills noted in the update included a mastic seal from Midstates (~$17,000), culvert-installation work and backfill from Bridal Bauer (~$17,000), and a $61,000 construction cost on the County Road Old project.
