Jackson board approves survey map and rezoning ordinance for West Bend School District parcels

The Village of Jackson board on Oct. 14 approved a certified survey map (CSM) for parcels identified in the West Bend School District and adopted Ordinance 25-11 to rezone several contiguous parcels from M-2 General Manufacturing and Planned Unit Development (PUD) to I-1 Institutional and Public Service District.

The CSM approval included one change recommended by the village engineer: addition of a 12-foot easement to accommodate a water main. The board approved the CSM by voice vote after the village engineer described the easement and where it connects to Spruce Street.

Ordinance 25-11, which covers parcels V-3018900-C, V-3019300-A, V-3019300-B (rezoned from M-2) and V-3019300-D (rezoned from Planned Unit Development), was introduced and advanced. The board moved to suspend the rules and conduct a second reading immediately; a roll-call vote to suspend the rules was recorded as 6–0 in favor. The second-reading motion to adopt Ordinance 25-11 also carried.

Trustees did not record opposition during the votes. The rezoning and CSM approvals were presented to the board after consideration by the Plan Commission and are intended to accommodate the West Bend School District's planned site work.

The village engineer's note about the 12-foot water-main easement was incorporated into the CSM after Plan Commission review; the board approved the updated map as presented.
