"There's no really clock ticking on that, miss Pam. We've had our, you know, first session, where we kinda brought up some items that we thought need to be modified, updated," the board member said. "Right now, we're our town attorney is going to come back with us with some options. The board's going to do some more deliberating. Might be another 1 after that."
A staff member said she has completed edits and compiled answers to the roughly "12 and 14" questions the board raised and that she still needs to check references to state law. "The only thing I have to do is to go through and check all the TCA codes and make sure that they're correct," the staff member said.
The board member said a state representative had confirmed that the legislature convenes in January and remains in session into the spring, so submissions can be delivered while lawmakers are in session. "They go in January, and anytime while they're in session, it can be delivered. And the open charter will stay into effect the whole time," the board member said.
