Trust updates communications manager job description and adds finance-analyst role; board approves both

The Escambia Children—s Trust board on Oct. 14 approved an updated job description and pay scale for the communications manager and authorized recruitment for a new contract finance analyst position that staff said will provide hands-on financial and contract support to nonprofit providers.

Staff and the personnel committee explained the communications-manager job description was revised to align duties and performance evaluation with actual responsibilities, including outreach, website work and marketing. Board members moved, seconded and approved the updated communications-manager description by voice vote. The motion passed unanimously.

Board members then discussed a proposed contract finance analyst position that staff said would replace a previously budgeted line for outside nonprofit-training dollars. Lindsay (staff) described the new role as a hands-on position to help smaller grassroots providers reconcile expenses, understand contract scope and strengthen fiscal oversight. Staff said the change is a reallocation of existing training funds rather than an increase to the administrative budget.

The board approved the contract finance analyst job description and authorized recruitment, again by voice vote, with staff noting the organizational budget would be reallocated but not increased. Members emphasized the importance of hiring a qualified candidate and asked staff to time recruitment and credentialing appropriately.
