In the superintendent’s report, district staff reported an Oct. 1 count of 2,462 students in grades K–12 and 83 prekindergarten students; the superintendent noted the IT department was still confirming records.

The superintendent said 33 of the K–12 students are enrolled in the Warrior Captain program. Staff also reported that in September the district served 3,500 more breakfasts and 5,800 more lunches than it did in the same month last year, and reminded families that breakfast and lunch are free to students.

The remarks were part of routine administrative reporting; board members responded positively and encouraged families to use the free meals program. No policy change was proposed during the report.
