SRPC to digitize master-plan maps; board to correct workforce-housing overlay mapping and finish implementation strategies

The planning board heard an update on the master plan and mapping work SRPC is performing. SRPC staff have digitized the master-plan maps and will make large and small versions available online. Board members asked for updated road-name labeling and confirmed they will be able to review map updates as SRPC posts them.
The board identified a specific problem with the workforce-housing overlay map in its materials: the map in the planning documents incorrectly showed much of the town (RA1/RA2) rather than the intended 500-foot strip along state-numbered roads (the workforce overlay as originally voted). Members asked SRPC to correct the workforce-housing overlay map to reflect the 500-foot corridor on the state roads named in the planning materials and to provide the corrected map for an official signature and adoption.
Separately, the board discussed the implementation and strategy sections of the master plan and asked members to write more-specific implementation steps for their assigned sections so the plan can function as a working document. SRPC will continue editing and the board set a target to have maps updated before October 31 and to work toward a draft master plan completion by December.
Board members tasked themselves with drafting implementation items by the next meeting and to submit edits to the planning board coordinator for compilation.
