The Garland Library Board approved minutes from its Sept. 8 meeting and elected new officers during its Oct. 13 meeting.

Board members moved to approve the Sept. 8 minutes; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board then held nominations and elections for chair and vice chair. Terry was nominated and, after a voice vote, was elected board chair. Kristen was nominated to continue as vice chair and received more hand votes than nominee Sarah Montoya; Kristen was declared elected vice chair.

The election followed the board’s standard procedure: members may nominate themselves or others, seconds were recorded during the meeting, and the board used voice and raised-hand voting for the two positions. No additional motions or changes to the board’s bylaws were made during the votes.

The meeting record shows the minutes approval and officer elections concluded early in the agenda and that the board will hold the next regular meeting on Nov. 10.
