Metuchen board approves personnel, finance, policy and curriculum items; welcomes two new staff

The Metuchen Board of Education on Oct. 14, 2025, approved a package of routine minutes, personnel, finance, policy and curriculum items and introduced two newly hired staff members during the meeting.
The board welcomed Chioma Asai, described by district leaders as the music teacher leave replacement for Mrs. Gallagher assigned to Edgar and Moss schools, and Julianne Ulmer, described as a social worker leave replacement who will work at Edgar and the high school. Chioma Asai said, "Everyone has been very kind and supportive," and Julianne Ulmer said she "look[s] forward to being a part of this community and working with my students, their families, staff, and administration."
