Ashley Crowell, director of the Easton Foundation, introduced herself to the board and described a strategic plan to expand foundation programming and fundraising for district students.
Crowell said the foundation has completed a strategic planning process and is inserting programming support into the middle school’s after‑school offerings, and planning activities for early dismissal days to provide supervised full‑day options and busing. “We are inserting ourselves into the middle school to assist directly with their after school programming,” Crowell said.
She said the foundation is working to secure a permanent sponsor for the high‑school robotics team and reported a productive meeting with Astound as a potential long‑term sponsor. Crowell said the intention is to secure out‑of‑pocket sponsorship this year and then convert that support into an EITC‑eligible program for future tax‑credit incentives.
Crowell also described plans for an alumni fundraising event — a themed dance‑a‑thon segmented by graduating decade — and said registration interest is approaching 200 people. She said the foundation is coordinating outreach with the Easton Community Center and using social media and targeted marketing to recruit alumni.
Board members praised Crowell’s early progress, calling her a “breath of fresh air” and noting the foundation’s role in raising funds and supporting unique programming.
