The Hendersonville General Committee voted Oct. 14 to forward Resolution 2025‑35, which amends the city's job classification list and pay table to reflect recent position changes and anticipated growth in services.
City officials said the changes are partly driven by turnover and by expanding park programming and facilities. Jason Gallo, Administrative Services Director, summarized the staff review: the departure of a recreation coordinator prompted an evaluation of duties and the need for a classification that can manage more complex programming and avoid overtime by matching responsibilities to salary bands.
Parks Director Andy Gilly and staff described the reclassification as a way to align job responsibilities with anticipated growth at sites such as Durham Farm and other new or expanded facilities. "As Durham Farm gets built out, as all the parks continue to expand, it's encompassed within the job descriptions for the top management," a staff speaker said.
The committee took a voice vote and forwarded Resolution 2025‑35 to BOMA with a positive recommendation.
Next steps: if BOMA approves the resolution, departments will implement the revised job classifications and updated pay table.
