AGCM project manager Ethel Hudgins updated the council on construction of the City’s Public Safety Building, reporting interior finishes, installed HVAC units, most doors set (glass pending) and landscape work completed. Hudgins said concrete, LVT and carpeting installations and remaining FF&E were scheduled for the final period and the project was tracking to the previously-discussed November 19 target completion date.
Hudgins told council that the contractor drew on contingency for required items and that a follow-up report will give details on the change-order draw and reasons for the contingency use. She said safes, radio equipment and a radio tower remained to be installed and that inspections are scheduled the coming week. Following a brief question period, a motion to accept the contractor update and proceed with the pay application was made and seconded; the chair announced the motion carried 5-0.
Ending — Hudgins and staff said they will return with a more detailed change-order and contingency accounting on the next report so council can review the contingency draw.
