Other construction items approved included SCS Construction change order No. 59 for $6,332.15 to address final cleanup and landscaping along the trail near the pond and sports fields, and a $62,234 change order to install enhanced irrigation around the splash pad and playground area in a southeast park. Both were approved 5–0.
During the capital projects discussion, staff presented a professional services agreement for design and inspection of the next Main Street corridor segment (Meridian to Polk). The commission approved a not‑to‑exceed amount of $575,200 for the contract; staff said most construction work is expected in 2026 and that the contract is an hourly, not‑to‑exceed arrangement intended to cover design, inspection and associated services.
The chair and multiple commissioners emphasized that certain utility relocations would occur at the utility owners’ expense and that construction spending is planned for 2026.
