Staff previews Mass Timber Conference visits and industrial-park tour to showcase local manufacturers

City staff told the Estacada Economic Development Commission that members and staff will use the upcoming Mass Timber Conference to showcase local industrial capacity and to host visiting attendees on a site tour.
Staff reported the Mass Timber Conference will take place April 4–6 and noted the event has grown significantly; organizers estimate several thousand attendees and staff cited attendance in the 3,000–4,000 range at recent conferences. Sauder Timber will host a facility tour on March 25, tentatively scheduled 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with two tour buses expected to visit the site and a lunch to follow.
Staff said the outreach is an opportunity to highlight Estacada’s industrial park and the types of manufacturing and timber-processing equipment and skills present locally. Commissioners were invited to help host visitors and to use the tour to support industrial-park marketing at the July outreach event.
