Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company to be directly dispatched by Allegheny County 911 on Nov. 3

Captain Jonathan Mark of the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company reported to council that starting Nov. 3, 2025, at 6 a.m., Allegheny County 911 will directly dispatch the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company for emergency calls.
Captain Mark said the change will transfer incoming emergency call handling to the county, noting Bethel Park is one of three departments in Allegheny County not currently dispatched by county 911. He asked residents and businesses with alarm systems monitored through the borough dispatch center who want direct county dispatch to contact their alarm company and provide the county dispatch number (412) 473-3370. He said updating the dispatch number is not mandatory; property owners may keep monitoring through the Bethel Park police dispatch but that process could cause a longer response time because of transfers.
