The Town of Waynesville council approved a construction contract Oct. 15 with Enterprise G for $103,000 to rebuild the Bilodeau Pavilion at Recreation Park. The company’s proposal included an estimated six‑week completion timeline.
Parks and recreation staff said the pavilion sustained heavy damage from Hurricane Helene and aging, and the structure is on the town’s FEMA damage inventory, which makes it a candidate for FEMA public assistance reimbursement. Staff said the lowest bid was nonresponsive and lacked required documentation and a construction timeline; Enterprise G was the next lowest responsible bidder and is based in Black Mountain.
Council authorized staff to execute contract documents and noted the rebuilt pavilion will mirror architectural elements used elsewhere in town parks, include a metal roof and recessed lighting, and serve frequent community events and rentals.
