Finance Director Maine explained that the state revenue-sharing funds come from liquor, cigarette and marijuana taxes and the state highway gas tax and that receiving the funds requires a public hearing. Maine told the committee the city expected the revenue to be “about $175,000.”
The committee invited public comment; none was offered, and Chair Paul Strobel closed the hearing so the budget process could continue. Maine said the City Council will consider a resolution to accept and allocate the funds at its June meeting.
