Votes at a glance: League City council approves rezoning, special-use permit and several appointments; authorizes legal expenses for pending suit

The League City Council took the following formal actions on Oct. 14, 2025:

- Consent agenda (items 6a–6r): Approved by voice vote, 7–0, 1 absent.

- Rezoning: Council approved an ordinance rezoning approximately 0.6 acres from CG (general commercial) to RSF-5 (residential single-family 5) for Map 25-00061908 (Carolina Avenue), generally located south of E. Egret Bay Blvd. After prior split votes and administrative review, the council approved the item; the meeting record shows a final tally described on the record as passing with five voting in favor and two members recorded as abstaining (Andy Mann and Courtney Chadwell). The item was placed by Mayor Pro Tem Cones and Councilman Tresler; Planning & Zoning recommended 8–0 on July 21, 2025.

- Galveston County Central Appraisal District board nominations (item 9a): The council nominated Tom Farmer and Matt Dole for reappointment to terms commencing Jan. 1, 2026. Vote: unanimous (7–0, 1 absent).
